THE ORIGINS OF THE BRAND
The history of the Scaligeri brand has its roots in the heart of the 19th century, when two families from Vicenza, Gedeone Gennari and Antonio Cracco, laid the foundations of Sirmione entrepreneurship.
On November 24, 1894, in Piazza Castello 15, Caffè Scaligeri was inaugurated, a place destined to become a symbol of the city, right in the shadow of the majestic Rocca Scaligera. In the same year, Bar Italia also opened in Piazza Carducci, today recognized as a historic place.
The founder's unstoppable entrepreneurial spirit soon led to the birth of the Hotel Germania, an elegant structure equipped with comfortable rooms, an excellent restaurant and a charming garden with an open-air theatre, where shows and events were held that enlivened the life of the community.
Over time, with the succession of generations, the Scaligeri brand continued to grow, embracing new challenges and broadening its horizons.
The Present and Future of the Bignotti Family
Today, the baton is in the hands of the sixth generation with Giuseppe Bignotti at the helm. Thanks to his great professionalism, strategic vision and passion, he continues to write the history of the brand with the support of his sons Angelo, Benjamin and Carlomaria. Together, they lead a solid and dynamic company, which carries on the family tradition without ever ceasing to innovate.
