Scenographically immersed in the Garda waters at the entrance to the town, the Scaligera fortress of Sirmione was built in the second half of the fourteenth century by the noble Della Scala family from Verona. Among the main attractions are the dock, an exceptional port fortification of the fourteenth century, the walls, the crenellated towers and the keep with its 37 meters high. The walk on the walls is beautiful and the evening play of lights is very suggestive.

GROTTE DI CATULLO AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Famous archaeological site area overlooking the lake surrounded by an olive grove, the Grotte di Catullo are named after the poet that this peninsula was so dear. The complex houses the remains of an imposing Roman villa built between the 1st century to. C. and the I century d. C, one of the best examples of residential villas in Northern Italy. A visit to the archaeological museum with its precious finds is not to be missed.
